LA ILUSIÓN DE UN VERANO SIN FIN
by Alessandra Sanguinetti
Filmed over the course of 25 years, the film expands upon the photographic series The Adventures of Guille and Belinda and the Enigmatic Meaning of Their Dreams, created by Argentine filmmaker and photographer Sanguinetti in collaboration with her neighbours, the inseparable cousins Guillermina Aranciaga and Belinda Stutz. It all began in 1999, when Sanguinetti invited the two girls to share their dreams and fantasies with her, initiating a decades-long collaboration founded on trust. As Guillermina and Belinda leave childhood behind, Sanguinetti traces the evolution of their friendship as they navigate work, family, motherhood, and increasingly divergent paths in life. Set against the rural landscape of the Argentine Pampas, outside Buenos Aires, the film offers an intimate portrait of women’s lives in the Argentine countryside and a poignant meditation on time and memory.
