Declaration
film director
“The film is a darkly comic exploration of the American desire to see oneself as exceptional: the outsider who sees through the system, even as that self-image obscures the harm one causes. Angela is so determined to get everyone else to open their eyes that she fails to recognize her own blind spots, casting herself as the hero of a story that isn’t really about her.”
