View from a car of a landscape in Poland. The scenery gradually changes: a town, highrise flats and farmhouses, The car stops in a village street. A woman photographer from a Western country gets out and avidly takes pictures of her surroundings. By chance, her eye is caught by the arrival of a wedding party. This marks the point of departure for several stories which unfold in the course of the wedding. The focal point of the film is a triangle of relationships: a girl torn between an energetic showoff with a motorbike and a shy young lad (without a motorbike). Despite the obstacles thrown in their path, romantic encounters and a hectic chase to a burning tree, the girl and the young lad (without the motorbike) eventually come together. The action also includes the friendship between a boy with large, stickingout ears and a sad little ballerina; a dancing bureaucrat; a man with a horse and a stick; jealous husbands, squabbling couples and a few gossiping old peasantwomen.
