The mayor and the dignitaries of a small city forbid the youths from there to listen and dance to the new music which they like. For this reason, two of them go off to look for a wellknown disk-jockey to organize a show in their main square. The show is very successful and the music is allowed again in the town.

Declaration

film director

"The film was shot in three weeks and cost fifty thousand pounds or something like that. It was all one set. I suppose it was the television training, but I shot all those sequences with three cameras. By going over the number three times in a row and changing camera positions, it enables you to have nine different setups with very little lighting change. Once you learn how to put the three cameras so that they don't drive the lighting cameraman mad in other words so that the key light is always coming from the same direction for all the cameras, you can get nine perfectly usable and different setups in the space of an hour on a musical number. This was the only way I knew how to work anyway, and it's something that I've continued with for all films. always use two or three cameras now." (Richard Lester, Interview with Richard Lester by I. Cameron e M. Shivas, "Movie", n. 16, winter 196869, p. 19)
