LE MOSCHE IN TESTA
by Maria Daria Menozzi, Gabriella Morandi
On the threshold of their thirties, Francesco and Bruno meet again after several long months have passed. Neither of them has any valid reason for keeping on living in Bologna. Elviro and Guerrino are two old friends, unsuccessful veterans of the wartime Resistance. Elviro is a fisherman who poaches, a loner and a drunk. Guerrino is a fishing warden in the Comacchio valley. The other characters revolve around them. Gianluca is out on probation from the reform school where he has spent his adolescence. He has been assigned to the custody of Bruno. And there are three woman figures dissolved among the unreal fights of the Po valley. Francesco plans to steal an expensive Etruscan vase with his uncle's help. He proposes this to Bruno as their grand opportunity to make a little money and go off to Africa. Guerrino instead tries to get Elviro in on the plot. In this way he almost wants to pay off a debt incurred when, as a partisan, he sent his friend out on a scouting mission who then lost his testicles while crossing a mine field, As far as action is concerned, nothing happens. The robbery fails. The vase ends up in the waves of the Po. Life is waiting, play and destiny.
