He works in a pharmacy. She stays at home. He drinks, but like most alcoholics, we never see him drink. She takes a lot of sleeping pills, rarely eats, and as a last hope, tries to establish a loving relationship with her son Bertrand. He doesn't go to school very often, preferring to work with an old fisherman who has become his spiritual mentor They force the father into a detox center in vain.
