"Riyaaz" is a term used by Indian classical musicians to describe their solitary music hours. For some it is a practice of musical grammar that seeks a future completion, for other it is deeply individual and whole. This film looks at industry, landscape and traditional Indian architecture, seeking a musical unity a unity outside the logic of narrative and film grammar

Kabir Mohanty studied Economies in Calcutta and later filmmaking at the University of Iowa (USA) with theorist DudIey Andrew and experimental filmmaker J. Leighton Pierce.
