The documentary is an attempt to offer a springboard for thinking about the figure of the "white man" at the point when he relates to blacks. Particularly the first part, which is set in Senegal, describes the characteristics of the "toubab" (as the white man is called down there) and comments through images of daily life in Senegal, its various environments and historical places. The second part ends the film journey in Florence, Italy during the hungerstrike conducted by the Senegalese in Piazza Duomo in February 1990.
