"The Life and Death of puts into images the subjective experience of a living creature locked in a cage alone in a closed setting, who is carried out to the outside at the end to die. The life and death of a... rabbit (?), as metaphor of some human experiences: that of the sick person, that of the person different from others, (in the last analysis, isn't Gregor Samsa someone who finds himself different, sick, and is then found out?), that of the prisoner who dreams of escaping and fulfills it when he is liberated from the prison of life, of the man who gets to know the light of reality at the end (I'm thinking of Plato's myth of the cave). The Life and Death of is made up of a series of absolutely subjective shots without dialogue, musical comment, or an action plot. It is perhaps the putting into images and sound of the loneliness of life and death." (Pasquale Misuraca)
