NEIL YOUNG TRUNK SHOW
Neil Young on a stage, in the center of a circle of acoustic guitars,
in the midst of musicians such as Ben Keith, Ralph Molina, Rick Rosas,
Pegi Young and Anthony “Sweet Pea” Crawford, plus an onstage
painter portrayed by Eric Johnson. They perform anthems like Cowgirl
in the Sand, Cinammon Girl, Like a Hurricane, rarely performed
pieces like Mexico, Sad Movies, Ambulance Blues and more recent
material like No Hidden Path and The Believer.
“The first time I showed the film to Neil Young, it was a lot like what
it is now – a couple of songs changed – Neil just sat there and he was
like, ‘My God, I don’t know what to say.’ He was amazed at himself.
That made me so happy. I feel like Neil got to see what we who love
him see. I think he was blown away at what he does up there. I think
he saw how hard he works, how much he gives to the process and it
was Neil Young speechless which you never get to see. Neil’s got
something to say about everything.”

Jonathan Demme
Jonathan Demme (Baldwin, NY, USA, 1944) debuted in cinema working with
the producer Roger Corman, directing three films for New World Pictures
between 1974 and 1976. In 1984, he directed Swing Shift for Warner
Bros and that same year released his documentary about the Talking Heads,
Stop Making Sense. In 1991, he won Oscars for Best Film, Best Director, Best
Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Actress with his film The Silence of the Lambs. Two years later, he won two more Oscars with Philadelphia. In 2004 he
made a remake of The Manchurian Candidate by John Frankenheimer
and in 2008 he directed Rachel Getting Married, which competed at the Venice
Film Festival.
