"Amos Melodies and Zia Enza è in partenza were made while the members of Cinico Video were working on material for a documentary on the making of Amos Gitai's spectacle, Metamorfosi di una melodia. Their documentary was produced this year. Amos Gitai's spectacle was his debut as a theatrical director. It was presented at the Oresteia in Gibellina in July. Its cast included Samuel Fuller, Hanna Schygulla and Enrico Lo Verso. After almost two months of shooting, we found ourselves with many hours of material video, normal film, 16mm, and Super8. On the one hand, there are the outstanding moments from the work of Amos. On the other hand, there are the recollections of Fuller, with whom we went over 40 years of American film. Finally Roberta Torre managed to 'converse' likewise, among the ruins of Gibellina with a Hanna Schygulla who was very ready to talk about the films she made, about directors, and about actors she met. There is talk of Fassbinder, but not too much... She talks about her own life and her own good nature, and even talks about our Sicily. All of this material is now being edited and will be completed by the end of the year. And so with these little products in their valise, the members of Cinico Video are going around Italy to let people know that they don't produce only Cinico TV but that they are ready to produce 'foreigners' too, such as Turinese, Milanese, and Romans. They, of course, are from Palermo." (Ciprì & Maresco)
