The film is a dramatized documentary about Ahmed, a NorthAfrican immigrant worker. He has become impotent while living and working in France. In NorthAfrican culture sexual power is synonymous with real power and authority. This film is based upon a study conducted among NorthAfrican workers in Paris in 1990.

Karim B. Traïdia

Karim B. Traidia (Algeria, 1949) was a French teacher 1967-69. He studied industrial electronics 1971-73. He worked two years for SNS (the National Iron Company). Since 1980 he has been living in Holland, where he attended the film and television school N.F.T.V.A. (1987-91). He was co-screenwriter and production assistant for the documentary A la découverte des fresques du desert (1989). He made the commercial SOS THD and directed the documentary 15 jaar wachten on Saharan youths in the refugee camps in southwestern Algeria.
