"The Plumber is the latest in a series of 'encounters' with characters who talk about themselves freely without a fixed agenda and without fiction. In my preceding works, such as Welcome, the guiding line of the story was the narrative with its constant interweaving of truth and fiction. In this work, that guiding line is the very voice of the protagonist. In fact, after my meeting Daniele Segre, I have fell myself pushed to look for those people in real life who are already in themselves protagonists the protagonists of true stories which nevertheless seem to be moving constantly over the center of gravity between reality and fiction."
