In a world where lawns regularly need mowing but where nothing else much grows, life for Gwyneth is linked to the mailbox. The mailbox is Gwyneth's point of contact with fantasy. An unpredictable site delivering mysterious signs and messages from the outside world, promises of escape from mundanity. Escape appears in the form of Lance, the energetic early morning jogger, sweating and bending in front of her. Gwyn dreams of silk sheeted nights and climactic moments: lust for Lance, an end to macaroni cheese meals. But can she follow her dreams? Will Gwyneth manage to escape her fate? Or will Barry, her husband, obscure the way?

Nicky Marshall (1963) studied film in Sydney. She worked with Jane Campion (An Angel at My Table) and with Ross Gibson (Dead to the World).
