0 corpo is a story of happiness and pleasure, with no repression. It shows the everyday life of a couple that, as a matter of fact, is not a couple. Xavier, Carmen and Beatriz live in the same house, in total harmony. Xavier, a successful pharmacist, is a typical latin. He loves tangos. Carmen is tall, thin, and she loves to write a diary about their life. Beatriz is fat and she loves to read novels. The repression exists, but it doesn't affect them. It is represented by people who live in the neighborhood. Salvador is a police commissioner and his wife, Helena, wants him to put an end to the love story of the three of them. But Xavier is always able to dodge. Xavier works hard and sometimes he betrays Carmen and Beatriz with a whore called Monique. The two women find out about his betrayal. Monique is now a threat to the stabilization of the happiness of the three of them. Carmen and Beatriz are closer and closer and they despise Xavier.

José Antonio B. Garcia
After studying at the School of Communication and Art of São Paulo University, Garcia (São Paulo, 1955) directed numerous shorts and documentaries before co-directing, with Icaro Martins, three feature-length films in the 1980's. O Corpo is his first solo effort.
