The film is a very sentimental drama which describes with simpathy the bold passion of an ordinary man, who falls in love and drives himself to the course of extraordinariness. The screenplay is adapted from Nishimura Bo's novel Hi no Ga, which is based on a true story that happened 10 years ago. The story takes place in Otsuki in early summer. Makoto arrives in the rain, and spots a woman going into a real estate agency. He is immediately enchanted by her, and grabs a chance to work at the agency. Makoto soon finds out that the woman, Nami, is the wife of the owner Tsuchiya, but he knows that his passion for her is already getting out of control. Finally, Makoto makes love to her, which is almost a rape. Tsuchiya gets furious when he learns about it and kicks Makoto out. Nami comes to look for him, when he suggests, without any profound thought or reason, of killing Tsuchiya...

Ishii Takashi
Born in Sendai, 1954, Ishii Takashi started his career as a cartoonist when he was a student at Waseda University. He entered the film world in 1978, when he was given the task of adapting his own cartoons to the cinema. He then embarked on a number of projects, most importantly his "Roman Porno" (romantic soft-core very much in vogue in the seventies) for Nikkatsu. He got into directing films in 1988.
