Through an Open Window is the story of a woman whose carefully existence becomes nightmarish in the course of one summer afternoon. Anne Meara portrays a suburban housewife confronted by a seemingly harmless incident which conceals a terrifying potential.

"I wanted to tell a story that created a very definite mood, and where the incidents of the film help to support that mood. It is the kind of subject that no one will usually make a film about. In many ways, my film is very European in tone, not only because of its sense of solitude, but also because it demands the viewer's complete attention." (Eric Mendelsohn)
