"This film originated in a burst of admiration and love for an old friend that has not 'gone soft'. My feeling was made official in my little project of collecting images for a documentary at the 1992 Festival of the review Cuore ('Heart') in Montecchio. (This way I paid them my dues with a bonus.) The material changed form when it was just a montage-inprogress. The Cuore tribe got to me. They pushed and steered me emotionally toward this 'impressionistic report' on the people that made that Festival place come to life, a report of a voyage to a island on human resistance". Isabella Ciarchi
Isabella Ciarchi, from Milan, has worked in the theater as director, actress, and singer since 1968 with Dario Fo, Giorgio Gaber, and Renato De Simone. She worked in various roles in the films of Giancarlo Soldi, Silvio Soldini, Bruno Bigoni, Kiko Stella and Daniele Segre. For the series Islands of Human Resistance, she made the videos - Voglia di Cuore (1992), Le mamme del Leoncavallo (1993-94) and Nomadi di Città (1993-94).
