Crime, vice, prostitution: life on the streets of Hollywood is a treacherous proposition for the thousands of runaway kids who flood into the city each and every day. But as difficult as life on the fringes of society may be, it sure as hell beats belonging to society, or so says King, charming and passionate young streetkid who is the self appointed leader of a "family" of likeminded young rebels. King and his friends Little J, a shrimp with a passion for handguns. Greg, a young and confused speed freak, and the lovehungry Brenda do everything together. They try to support each other, protect each other. And, like the "family" of James Dean, Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo in Rebel Without a Cause, King and his posse try, above all, to live by their own highly moral code.

"When you choose to present subject matter as serious as runaways and teenagers who have chosen to live on the streets, I think you must tell the story in the most direct and gritty way possible. But I also wanted it to be entertaining, and the only way you can fill both of these needs is to develop and present believable characters that the audience will care about." (Marc Rocco)
