There is a man alone in his apartment stretched out on his bed, half-asleep. He hardly looks healthy at all. The place is gray and rundown. And this shows his habitual loneliness. A cold and detached voice-over informs us that that man is about to die, even though he does not have the least suspicion that he is. The voice tells us his thoughts, memories, and fantasies that pass by in these few minutes of apparent rest. There is a poster of a resort that was probably never visited. There is a wet spot on the ceiling, the memory of a childhood summer vacation, and a pair of forgotten pants in the laundry. All this passes by until a last run through the imagination that is stronger than of the others. It is a distant story… a woman's voice... and instant of breathing... and then, the end.

Luigi Abramo
Luigi Abramo (Rome, 1969) and Davide Bertoni (Rome, 1970) study the performing arts at the University of Rome La Sapienza. They have had varied training experiences as directors, assistant directors, and producers in the theater and television (with M. Scaccia, M. Sbragia, S. Bussotti, and P. Avati) and have produced various works in video. They are debuting as film directors with Descant, a work that is entirely self-produced.
Davide Bertoni
