Computer generated animation using a 3D program done for a course for a degree in the technology of architecture. This film illustrates the relative positions of the sun in reference to the earths orbit and the geometrical fundamentals of the "Theory of Shadows".

Mauro Calvone
Mauro Calvone (Turin, 1972) is a student of architecture at the Politecnico of Turin. After making a Super8 film, he shot the short 16mm film L'uomo diviso dall'ombra (1991), winner of the Achille Valdata audience award at the ninth Turin Film Festival as well as a jury's special mention at the second Festival Giovani Artisti Videomagnetici. His works appeared in the third Italian independent film series in Berlin. In 1993 he made a short scientific documentary in computer graphics, the Sun Shadow Dinamics, chosen in the competition at Medianet94, a market for multimedia audiovisuals in Munich. He made the short computer graphics film, Fert, Filming with European Regard in Turin (1994), presented at the Villette in Paris.
