The director aims to tell some fragments of the fascinating and mystery-charged atmosphere that runs through an old provincial theater. This is a slalom behind the curtains on the edge of reality, which can also be read as a story of a falling in love with the theater and its magic - as is the case with Tommy, the young curtain-attendant who wants to go away with some wandering theater company. The old stage with its dusty rafters and only partly functioning dressing rooms is not only the background for the events, but is something that becomes a living, pulsating being that can seduce and upset as well as thrill and astonish.

Mario Tosi
Mario Tosi (Novara, 1953) has been involved in local television since its beginnings, working as director and programmer for Telebassonovarese. From 1975 to he contributed to the monthly, "Il Comune", and the weekly, "L'azione". From 1979 to 1982 he was programmer and president of the film series, Cineforum Nord of Novara. He has been involved in the professional management of movie theaters since 1979. At present he runs and programs several movie theaters - the Vip, Araldo, Faraggiana, and Cortile Broletto, all in Novara, as well as the Cineteatro comunale of Oleggio. In addition he handles the programming for the movie theaters S. Carlo (Arona). Vandoni (Bellinzago) and Silvio Pellico (Trecate). Between 1970 and 1982 he has made many 8mm e Super8 films, including Guerrieri, presented at the Turin Film Festival. He made a series of 35mm mini-films promoting movie theaters: Incontro (1987), C'era una volta il cinema (1988), Undercity (1989), Dolce Natale (1989), Magia (1990) and Mille anni (1991). He is the director of a series of fiction video films made with the students of C.I.T.A. of Novara: Sala d'attesa (1986), Ultimo Anno (1986), Fuego d'amor (1991), Grafiti (1992), Diario (1993, presented at the last Turin Film Festival) and Il castello di sabbia (1994).
