There is a 50yearold man Dino. There is the relationship with the women of his life, with his little son, with his work as intellectual craftsman in which there is nothing that goes to waste. Everything is preserved and transformed old shoes and old loves in a steady reflection that probes his own inadequacy without any consolatory shame. There is a friend who dies Daniele, a schoolmate who had become a priest and who represented a safe haven in his saddest moments. Dino manages to feel Daniele's presence even after his death. Daniele is as real as any imaginary figure can be, as tangible as the shapes in a dream. This is a story of friendship, a story of parallel habits, a story of that part of a generation that did not know how to find its own place in the world.

Nico D'Alessandria was born in Rome December 10, 1941. "I was born/I died to the cinema with Rebecca. I was born/rebom with cinema-verità. I was near experimental cinema - Prufrock - and militant cinema - Occupazione delle case a Decima. As a dead person at the movies, I began to dream of living in a film and many times it had the same final sequence. On the radio I gave words to the image of madness - Processi mentali. They made me be a businessman and I kicked out the accountant. I have trailed old age - Passaggi. I watched the emperor walk around Rome L'imperatore.
