The video is set in present-day Piedmont, but inspired by a Cechov story. It tells the story of a young woman who was accused by her husband of not being a good wife and of betraying him through witchcraft. While these events are taking place, the woman dreams with open eyes imaginary scenes in which she relives her family oppression and rebellion. At the end she runs away from her home, leaving her husband and her nightmares behind her. The scenes of the trial are inspired by a trial that really occurred in Vercelli province between 1470 and 1471, which ended with the condemnation of the accused woman to be burnt at the stake.
