"The parents of Mathieu, the character I play, are separated. Mathieu understands that he went down the road in the opposite direction. He won his wife back to live with his son. He wants to go down a different road. When you are very young, you are convinced that you will never have any children. It is not good. It is not bad, either. It is just the philosophy of youth. Philippe Garrel
Philippe Garrel was born in Boulogne-Billancourt in 1948. He made his first short, Les enfants désaccordés, in 1964 at the age of 16 and quickly stood out for his radical approach to the cinema.
