Cozy is a thirtyyearold woman dissatisfied with her existence. She has never achieved any of aspirations. She has an apathetic and weak husband and three children and lives in an out of the place in Florida, Broward Country, between Miami and the Florida Everglades. Cozy's father is a detective who serves in the Miami police force. He spends his nights working and his days drinking gin in jazz clubs. One night Cozy visits a bar and meet her destiny - a guy named Lee, a young puzzle, who has the air of a loser. Cozy gets close to this stranger, who shows her how to use a pistol. Then an accident happens: a shot is fired accidentally and it hits a passerby. The couple hit the road. As they flee, they find themselves immersed in a type of life that is unknown and exceptional for them - the life of outlaws.

"I have always had two characters in mind who flee while nobody is chasing them. Then I decided to give the film the form of a road movie where nobody goes anywhere… In this there is also my experience of feeling trapped like many people I know in Florida. I shot in the area where I grew up. And I kept away from the wellknown places in Miami. Instead I used my parents' house and my father's office." (Kelly Reichardt).
