Two improbable post office workers find that they have to deliver a package with an ambiguous content They are eaten up by curiosity. They want to open the package and steal it. They go down a more imaginary than real path towards an imaginary receiver of the package. They are guided by couples in constant crisis as well as do-nothing philosophers who hold discourses on amorous sentiments. By now the package is a metaphor, an "obscure object of desire" onto which everyone project their own dream. At last, the package is delivered. "The sender is unknown, and the receiver too. And it is a great bit of luck that you got it with". The man is confused. He accepts the package and runs to open it. The film closes with the parable of those lovers who open their own packages too quickly.
