LE RETOUR DE L'AVENTURIER

The first African-style Western. A young African returns to his home village after a long trip to Europe. He has brought some cowboy suits from the West and, with some friends, forms a gang. This is the beginning of an adventure of brawls and armed robberies. The gang of black cowboys spreads panic in the village.

"My film is a parody of Westerns. I have tried to show some widespread African attitudes, such as mimicry. The influence of American cinema in Niger is so strong that young people end up by identifying with cowboys" (Mustapha Alassane).
