Uganda, March 2000. The IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development) has asked Abbas Kiarostami and his assistant Seifollah Samadian to go to Kampala. For ten days, their digital videocamera captures and caresses the faces of a thousand children, all orphans, whose parents have died of AIDS. They record tears and smiles, music and silence, life and death.
