Glyn McLynstock is an outlaw who has had a change of heart. He sets himself at the head of a pioneer wagon train heading to Oregon, where he wants to settle down and raise cattle. When the pioneers arrive in Portland, they buy food and clothing from a local shop owner, Tom Hendricks, who promises them that the merchandise will be delivered before winter begins. But the months pass and there is no sign of the supplies. Glyn returns to Portland and discovers that Hendricks is trying to sell their supplies to a group of gold diggers.

Anthony Mann

Anthony Mann (San Diego, CA, USA, 1906 - Berlin, Germany, 1967), born Emil Anton Bundmann, began his career, after having been an actor and theater manager, in 1938 as a collaborator of David O. Selznick. After making a low-budget noir and crime director, he became popular in the 1950s with some westerns starring James Stewart. He then dedicated himself to other genres with films The Glenn Miller Story (1954). In the 1960s he worked in Europe, creating blockbusters such as El Cid (id., 1961) and The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964).
