It is 5 a.m. Nicki gathers together all the valuables he has at home. His wife and children are sleeping. He is leaving for Germany. He has bought a passport and will become an illegal worker. Cretu, an old childhood friend, is going with him. It will be easier traveling together, but the trip will be dangerous.

"It is true that this story has to do with my past, but this wasn't important to me. The most significant aspect was that this story allows me to say things about a serious problem in contemporary Romania" (Catalin Mitulescu).

Catalin Mitulescu

Catalin Mitulescu (Bucharest, 1972) studied geology until 1993. He then left Romania to work in Italy, Austria and Poland. After returning to his homeland, he studied directing at the school of cinema in Bucharest, graduating in 2001. In 1998, he founded the production house Left Pictures with Marius Panduru. He has directed over thirty musical video clips and television commercials. Last year, he presented Bucaresti-Wien ora 8:15 at the Torino Film Festival.
