What atmosphere did Fred Buscaglione move around in during those twenty years he spent waiting for success? What is left of him after he went away on his pink Thunderbird? This film travels through the memories of people who still seem to be teenagers even though by now they are seventy or eighty years old. Doing so, it presents the images of those times. In this way that one-time-only world lives again and evokes nostalgia - strangely enough - even in people who have not lived through it.
"The path our narrative follows is based on getting the figure of Fred 'out of hock' (to use Leo Chiosso's expression). Without taking anything away from the legend, we get closer to the man and discover his qualities and his weaknesses. We go down that long road, which is often daunting and misunderstood, that led him to that dawn in Via Paisiello and his accident with his custom-made pink car" (Pit Formento).

Pit Formento
Pit Formento has graduated in Film History in Parma. He's been making documentaries since 1983 and his works have been distributed in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Spain and USA. He has won the First Prize at Festival del Documentario in San Benedetto del Tronto in 1988. Outside the documentary world, he has won the Solinas Award for Best Script in 1996 and, with a commercial, the AD Spot Award in 1997.
