JAMIE'S NIGHTS

JAMIE'S NIGHTS
by Manuela Mancini
Country: Italy
Year: 2001
Duration: 13'

Jamies Nights is the story of a 9-year-old boy who is trying to overcome his fear of the dark. Jamie has another embarrassing little problem too. The film explores his strong friendship with Marty, a little girl, and his clashing relationship with his parents.

Jamies Nights travels halfway between serious drama and comedy. This film represents my graduation project for my film courses in Scotland. It explores topics that have always been linked to my earlier works: the growth process and the struggle to find ones own identity, the world seen through the eyes of children, rebellion against authority, friendship and artistic expression as processes of mental liberation (Manuela Mancini).
