Country: South Korea
Year: 2000
Duration: 105'

Young Han leaves home because he hates his parents, who have divorced. He meets Chang, a violent young man who spends his time at the bars in the red light district. Han finds work in a restaurant where Ran, Chang's girlfriend, works as a waitress. On day he meets Sari, a "tough" girl, who rides her motorcycle around and spends her money on hallucinogens. She still suffers from the awful memory of an act of sexual violence she experienced at home when she was a young girl. Thanks to Han, Sari starts to slowly open up.

"Personally, I think Nunmul is a real punk movie. When we finished shooting it, the actors told me they considered this a comic-erotic-action film and this made me very happy. I met with many young people before I started shooting. None of them were happy, but their lives were quite dynamic. I have tried to represent this feeling of vitality. I hope this will become a legendary film for young people" (Im Sang-soo).
