Country: Italy
Year: 2001
Duration: 22'

A look at Italian "borderline" landscapes that have nothing to do with bella Italia - the well-known, tourist Italy that foreigners and visitors are used to seeing. This is a journey throughout the peninsula. It visits places that have been marked by the deep transformations that people have wrecked on it, very often without any prior design or planning that could have led to anything positive. These are places that are, in a certain way, abandoned and condemned to their own metamorphoses.

"The concept of perception is of fundamental importance in the representation of the landscape. 'Going for walks is a very important practice in life. It is a pause in respect to acting that allows us to immerse ourselves in the landscape, to look at it with a distanced eye, to enjoy its multiple facets, to touch it with our hands, and so to say, to caress it and breathe with its own breath.' (Eugenio Turri, Landscape as Theater)" (Salvo Cuccia).
