A documentary about the world of Roman-porno, which was born in Japan at the beginning of the 1970's and became very popular thanks to Mikkatsu productions. Nakata Hideo has brought all the stars of this genre in front of his movie camera, including the director Konuma Masaru (an authentic pioneer of Roman-porno) and the actresses Tani Naomi, Katagiri Yuko and Ogawa Asami.

Nakata Hideo
Nakata Hideo (Okayama, 1961), after graduation, was hired by Nikkatsu as assistant director for Konuma Masaru, Nasu Hiroyuki and Sai Yoichi. He debuted as a director with Joyuu-rei (Ghost Actress, 1996), a suspense film that takes place in the world of cinema. Two years later, his film Ringu (Ring) was an international success, and soon became a cult movie for horror movie fans and aficionados of Japanese cinema. After the sequel Ringu 2 (Ring 2, 1998), he continued his career with Kaosu (Chaos, 1999), Garasu no nou (The Sleeping Bride, 1999) and with the documentary Sadistic & Masochistic (2000), which was presented last year at the Torino Film Festival. After leaving Nikkatsu, Nakata made Dark Water.
