SONG ON A NARROW PATH: STORIES FROM JERUSALEM

SONG ON A NARROW PATH: STORIES FROM JERUSALEM
by Akram Safadi
Country: Italy, Belgium, France, Germany
Year: 2001
Duration: 52'

We see the pains, the sorrows, and the dignity of the people who are living through the perennial state of the "divided city" of Jerusalem. There are three stories that reveal the constrictions and the daily problems of people during 30 years of Israeli military control. There is Reem, an artist who claims his right to express himself. There is Ali, a man of color and political prisoner obsessed by the occupation. There is Farouq, who re-evokes the glorious memories of the past. For all of them, Jerusalem is a dream that troubles their minds and spirits while they constantly walk the fine line between recurring violence and pure survival.

"The portrait of my city, as I see it, through the lives of people close to me" (Akram Safadi).
