This films shows a day spent in the house of Suso Cecchi d'Amico, a house full of the past and of the present. There was the father, a famous enlightened literary figure who directed Cines out of curiosity. There were the children who had free reign of the studios and discovered the cinema. It was a house full of friends that were called Flaiano and Rota, Mastroianni and Monicelli, Age and Scarpelli, Benvenuti and De Bernardi. These were the friends an fellow workers. There was the lifelong adventure with Visconti and the arguments with Burt Lancaster. There was the birth of White Nights and I soliti ignoti. There were stories of cinema and life whose plot lines get lost and tie in again. These are told on the wave of the memory of a woman who has lived through fifty years of Italian cinema. She speaks in her Tuscan language with the disenchantment of a persona who has seen a lot and with the irony of a person who describes herself as only "a good craftsperson" of screenwriting.

Enzo Monteleone
Enzo Monteleone (Padua, 1954) began to take up cinema during his university years when he became the director of the University Film Center and the CinemaUno film club in Padua. In 1980 he worked on the production of Carlo Mazzacurati's Vagabondi. In 1986 his first screenplay, Hotel Colonial, was turned into a film directed by Cinzia Th Torrini. Then his association with Gabriele Salvatores began, for whom he wrote the screenplays for Kamikazen, Marrakech Express, Mediterraneo and Puerto Escondido. He also worked as a screenwriter with Mazzacurati for Il prete bello, Piccioni for Chiedi la Luna, D'Alatri for Americano Rosso, Francesca Comencini for Liberate i pesci and Sciarra for Alla rivoluzione sulla 2 cavalli. In 1994 he directed his first film, La vera vita di Antonio H. , the tragi-comic biography of the actor Alessandro Haber.
