VALENTINA È PARTITA

VALENTiNA HAS GONE
by Michael Beltrami, Ruben Rossello
Country: Italy, Switzerland
Year: 2001
Duration: 85'

The sorrows of a teenager, the problems and conflicts tied in with the latest waves of immigration, the pride of a mother reduced to living in a run-down, unhealthy house in a little town in Brescia province. Thirteen-year-old Valentina reaches the point where she can't stand all this any longer and so, one Sunday, decides to run away to her grandparents, leaving her mother and her Moroccan stepfather to face the by-then immanent eviction.

"Valentina's is an everyday life story that needs telling and that brings out situations and conflicts that are very common nowadays. It is an agonizing and contradictory story" (Michael Beltrami, Ruben Rossello).
