Wallace
Avery is tired: he is divorced, he is disappointed by his love life,
and he can’t connect with his son. What better solution than to
create a new identity and to run away to Terre Haute in Indiana? Once
he gets there as Arthur Newman he will be able to start over again,
dedicating himself to playing golf professionally. It seems like a
perfect plan, the important thing is to get in his car and drive
away. But he changes his tack after meeting Mike, a beautiful woman
found lying unconscious by a motel’s swimming pool: it doesn’t
take long for the young woman to figure out his deceit, but it will
take a little longer.

Dante Ariola
Dante Ariola grew up in New York, studying at the High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. He is a highly regarded commercial director, and has worked for brands like Nike, Volkswagen, Coca-Cola, Adidas, Heineken, Pepsi, Gatorade, Hewlett- Packard, Stella Artois, Levi’s, and Lee Jeans. He has received many awards, including: the Cannes Golden Lion at the 2000 Cannes Lions - International Festival of Creativity for his Budget Car Rental commercial, and the DGA Commercial Director of the Year in 2006 for his commercial Human, which he directed for Johnny Walker’s. Arthur Newman marks his debut as a feature film director.

“Colin Firth was the first and only actor I had in mind for the role of Arthur. It was that simple. There was no long list, just him. A few weeks later I flew to London to meet him. After we spoke he said yes and that was that. I suspect the script just happened to find him at precisely the right moment too, not to mention the fact that it had an extremely challenging role for him, which he is always fearlessly up for.”
