Sandra, who runs a fast food restaurant, receives a phone call at work: a man who says he is a policeman orders her to block Becky, a young employee. A client has supposedly accused the girl of stealing some money and therefore she must be searched. As the minutes pass, the search is transformed into a public humiliation of the girl by her colleagues, who are egged on by the man’s increasingly pressing and disturbing requests. Based on a true story.

Craig Zobel
Craig Zobel (New York, USA) grew up in Atlanta and studied at the North Carolina School of Arts. While attending the University of Georgia, he and a classmate, Mike Chapman, created the animated series Homestar Runner, which was put on the internet and whose first episodes date back to 1996. He later worked as a producer, collaborating on films such as the feature-length George Washington by David Gordon Green, winner of the 2000 Torino Film Festival. He debuted in directing in 2007 with the comedy Great World of Sound, which was followed by Compliance, an award-winner at Locarno Film Festival.

“I’ve always been a devoted fan of Dog Day Afternoon, and, though my script is different, I saw an opportunity for very similar ultra-realistic, semi-improvised character moments. [...] Of course, no one can attempt tension building exercises without studying Hitchcock films, and so I’ve appropriated certain elements from him.”
