Alberto Testone is a fifty-year-old dental technician who looks incredibly like Pier Paolo Pasolini. He was born in the Fidene district; Testone slowly start to know the works of the author of Scritti Corsari. It is not so surprising after all that, with his love for theatre, he chose to “become” Pasolini, while the figure of PPP fuses itself with Testone’s tribute and curiosity, and reality and stage become one.

Stefano Petti
Stefano Petti (Rome, Italy 1982) is a cameraman and a filmmaker. After his experiences with documentaries, like participating as assistant director in Zero - Inchiesta sull’11 settembre (2007) by Franco Fracassi and Francesco Trento, he worked for several projects the Centro di formazione e ricerca del CineTeatro di Roma. Among these titles, the collective movie Quilty, currently in post-production, directed with Stefano Chiavarini, Emanuele Michetti, Nicola Ragone, Daniele Stocchi, and Federico Greco. He has been working with the production company Berta Film since 2010.

Alberto Testone (Rome, Italy, 1963) studied as a dental technician and as a character actor. He performed in many shows on stage and wrote a series plays, like Io quanti sono, short films, feature films (Quilty, and Pasolini, la verità nascosta by Federico Bruno), and TV series. Fatti corsari marks his debut as a director.

“The film has a circular structure articulated on many levels. The narrative lines are intertwined, dialoguing, and sometimes touching each other in a story that mixes languages, stiles, genres, and different mediums. Alberto’s personal bet interlaces with the city’s history, its thousands-year-old memory and places. […] In the background there is the underground connection with cinema, which marked the life of every character Alberto meets, and which allows him to move in the grooves of a common imaginary.”
