LES NUITS AVEC THEODORE

NIGHTS WITH THEODORE

Country: France
Year: 2012
Duration: 67

Buttes-Chaumont, a park in Paris’ 19th arrondissement that was founded in 1867, has always been considered a Mecca of esotericism. One night, at a party in an apartment, Theodore and Anna meet for the first time; a short time later, as they walk through the city streets, they find themselves near the park. They decide to climb over the wall and spend their first night together there. This is the beginning of a custom which will be repeated night after night, and which, above all for Theodore, who is fascinated by the sinister allure of the place, will become a necessity.

“The film begins like a historical reportage of the Buttes-Chaumont park. Archival footage from the 1900s is interspersed with present-day images, a voice narrates the history of the place, how it was created, its flora and fauna, and also talks about the esoteric aspects of the park. That’s when we enter, with a fictional dimension, into the story of Theodore and Anna, from their initial meeting until the end of their relationship.”
