While traveling through Italy to complete his education, Robert meets a homeless person and is attracted by the man’s attitude and unusual behavior. Overwhelmed by his personality and under his influence, Robert disappears. His father Janez and his older brother Matej go off to look for him and decide to set aside their unresolved conflicts and break the veil of silence which has weighed on their relationship for years. But Robert’s disappearance and the departure of the two men upset the family’s fragile equilibrium, as Matej’s wife and daughter are left alone to take care of the grandmother, who is suffering from dementia.

Declaration

film director

“I wanted to portray a family that has to face and redefine the blame as well as the forgiveness for the situation that they find themselves in. ‘My’ family has been dysfunctional for a long time. In a certain moment, Robert, the youngest family member, unexpectedly and unintentionally forces them to confront each other and the reasons of why the present has become as it is.”
