TOWER BLOCK

In the corridors of Serenity House, a run-down and evil-looking condominium in the English suburbs, two hooded figures are chasing after fifteen-year-old Jimmy. After catching up with him, they leave him lying bloodless on the ground. There don’t seem to be any witnesses, but in fact the residents have seen the entire incident but are too frightened to give testimony. The few people who are still living in the building all live in a climate of terror, poverty and distress. One year later, the situation takes a turn for the worse: a sniper, hidden somewhere in the building, turns it into a deathtrap from which nobody can escape. Will the residents manage to set aside their fears, differences and suspicions and find a way out?

“The London riots very much related to the story we were telling. I didn’t set out to make a political statement with the film, I set out to make a thriller/horror that was great fun but I also didn’t want to shy away from the fact that it has societal commentary within the narrative which I embraced.” (Ronnie Thompson)
