It seems like just a normal day for Dolph: his alarm rings at 7:60, his former colleagues wait for him at the office – by now they are used to seeing him arrive every day, even though he doesn’t work there anymore; his desk is, as always, flooded by the torrential rain which falls between the walls of his presumed workplace. But something is missing; actually someone is missing: Paul, his beloved dog, who has disappeared. It is a hard blow for Dolph, who is rather fragile and starts to search desperately for his dog with the help of  an untrustworthy pet detective, a nymphomaniac who also delivers pizzas, a next-door neighbor who is a jogging addict, and an opportunistic gardener.

Biography

film director

Quentin Dupieux

(Paris, France, 1974), better known as Mr Oizo, is a world-famous DJ and producer, known for his hit Flat Beat, which originated from his collaboration with Levi’s, for which he shot a series of popular ads in 1999. He debuted as a director with the medium-length movie Nonfilm (2002), which revealed his particular taste for the absurd and the nonsense that also characterized his next movies, Steak (2007) and above all Rubber (2010), presented at the Semaine de la critique in Cannes. His feature film Wrong (2012) participated at the 2012 Torino Film Festival. One of the most appreciated comic directors, his films premiered in Cannes (Le Daim, 2019, Fumer fait tousser, 2022), Venezia (Mandibules, 2020), and Berlin (Incroyable mais vrai, 2022).

Declaration

film director

“I wrote Wrong using the same method as I did for my other movies: in a rather random way. Once I have laid down all the random elements, I link them together to create an overall logic. I try not to have too much control.”
