Faouzi Bensaïdi
(Meknes, 1967) graduated from the Institut Supérieur d’Art Dramatique et d’Animation Culturelle in Rabat and later studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieure d’Art Dramatique in Paris. He is also active as an actor, and in 1999, he directed his first short film, La Falaise, which won over twenty national and international awards. His debut feature film, A Thousand Months, received the Best Debut Film award in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes. In 2006, WWW: What a Wonderful World was presented at the Venice Days. In 2017, Volubilis was again featured at the Venice Days, while Deserts was selected for the Cannes Directors' Fortnight in 2023.
