Ambra Angiolini will host the opening night of the 44th edition of the Torino Film Festival, scheduled to take place from 24 November to 2 December 2026.
One of the most recognisable and acclaimed figures in contemporary Italian cinema, Ambra Angiolini will officially open the TFF with the ceremony on the stage of Turin’s Teatro Regio, alongside Artistic Director Giulio Base. Her sensitivity as a performer, her authenticity and her constant pursuit of new forms of expression fully embody the values of a festival that has always celebrated cinema as a space for creative freedom, innovation and cultural dialogue.
The TFF has already announced a retrospective dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, who is also featured on the Festival poster, while the full programme of the 44th edition will be presented at a press conference in Rome on 5 November.
An actress who moves effortlessly between film, theatre and television, Ambra Angiolini has earned the admiration of audiences and critics alike, establishing herself as one of the leading performers of her generation. Ferzan Özpetek’s Saturno contro — a performance that earned her both the David di Donatello and the Nastro d’Argento for Best Supporting Actress — marked the beginning of a career featuring collaborations with some of the most prominent filmmakers in Italian cinema: Cristina Comencini in Bianco e nero, Paolo Genovese in Immaturi and Immaturi – Il viaggio, Massimiliano Bruno in Viva l’Italia, and Michele Placido in 7 minuti and La scelta. Throughout her career, she has consistently stood out for the intensity of her performances and her remarkable versatility.
